Are some of the new techniques you are learning becoming part of your usual techniques (hope that makes sense)? Do you have a favorite new technique that you've learned?
Absolutely yes. I am much braver (does that even make sense?) to just start with confidence. Drawing doesn't bring around the stress. I can feel pretty confident to draw a decent looking face. I like knowing that I can "fix it" (whatever "it" is) with something else... like paint pens or colored pencils. Favorite technique or material... Hmmm... The Stabilo Pencil is quite an amazing thing for shading. Paint Pens are fabulous. I like acrylic and even craft paint. I do love collage more that I ever imagined I would. Hmmm again... I'm not narrowing it down much. I'll say this. I've learned with water color and can use watercolor, but I have not made friends with watercolor.
I would think any color of skin would be hard to capture, but IMO you nailed it on the brown skin! These seem to tell stories too, like the "Listen" one and the folks viewing the mountains.

ReplyDeleteBut look again really closely... There's no brown at all!! It's pink and yellow and orange!! It kind of amazes me how it works.
