Fun fact about Greece: There are little cats everywhere... everywhere!
Our guide assured us that the cats are loved by Greece and taken care of when needed. He also assured us that they kept them spayed and neutered... Hmmm... if that was completely true... wouldn't there be fewer of them? ... just wondering...
They were happy little things. They seemed quite at home where ever they were. They were never bothered by people visiting their spaces. They liked to be petted, but we learned that they weren't having any part of being picked up.
When I say that they were everywhere, I mean...

So... yeah... everywhere.
As I was telling my art partner Cheri about the trip, she declared that our next weekly-ish challenge would be "Cats." So this little kitty showed up on the canvas.

I have been waiting to see some cat paintings inspired by your trip! Fun to see the photos of all the cats in Greece, too!
ReplyDeleteWe'll see what pops onto the canvas. I did paint some watercolor paintings of Santorini. I used them as notecards.
DeleteUtterly mesmerizing photos --yeah especially that one!! (insert brain exploding emoji) on what looks to have been a stupendous trip. I didn't realize you were going with friends and family!
ReplyDeleteYes! There were 25 in our group. Besides the two of us, there were a few friends of friends, five of my siblings or in-laws, some really good friends, some long-time friends that we reconnected with, and some acquaintances who became brand new kindred spirit forever friends. It was a great 13 days.
DeleteIt makes me so happy to see these beautiful, cared-for kitties. How I wish that could be the case in our country. What gorgeous photos - was visiting Greece a long-time wish of yours? Looks like you were with people you love to make it even more fun.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, no. I'd never thought of taking a trip there. It just became available, and we jumped on board! It was wonderful to spend 13 days with family members, old friends, and new friends. I wouldn't want to have done it any other way.
