    1. How can a zucchini (or squash or cucumber) grow so big without us noticing it? We look every single day!!

  2. Glorious! What kind of squash is that?!! Have I asked you about your tomato varieties? I see you like cherry/small fruited varieties like I do. I'm the only one who eats them here. I love beefsteak varieties also. I gain a little water weight every summer because I eat so many tomatoes with a sprinkle of salt!
I have two volunteer plants - a Sungold and one that looks kind of like the Campari you find in the grocery store, maybe from me throwing one out in the compost pile? Anyway the Sungold must have seeded from the giant plants I had last summer. As much as I love them, I vowed I would not plant them again because they became vine monsters that took over the garden. But because of that volunteer I have the seeds back on my list for next summer - lol - because I just love them!

    1. I really don't know the variety of the squash, just plain old zucchini and yellow crook neck from Walmart. As far as the varieties of tomatoes, I just get a few of whatever they have at the store. I do like the beefsteak ones so much. I also got some Cherokee purple that I was looking forward to trying, but either I wasn't patient enough to wait for them to turn purple or they just seemed like beefsteak. I love the black cherry and the sunstripe little ones. The normal little red ones, I like to put in the blender to become spaghetti sauce or chili during the winter.
