I finished the first one then just wasn't quite finished with this guy and painted him again.
I can't decide which one I like more.
I love the attitude of the first guy. I love that the second one and his background interact.
I was watching a crow outside my studio window yesterday. Is it an age thing? I never used to pay a bit of attention to birds. Before I know it, I'll probably have a field guide and binoculars! Surely not!
My Weekly-ish Challenge was "Crow." So... no tricks here, just a simple crow... or two.
Well, I love both of them! We had a small murder of crows in our backyard a year or so ago, one of whom I named Harry. They haven't been around much lately, and I miss them. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteHow funny that you named him! I do the same thing! We have an owl that hoots outside our window. I don't see him, but I call him Enrico. (No idea why)
DeleteThey are both good looking crows. I think the second guy is the homeless cousin of the first one. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the title, I wondered if it was about the weird custom of Aldi shoppers "Caw-Caw"-ing (I find this very strange)
Ok... what? I had to Google the Aldi caw-ing thing. I guess it's a real thing? Who knew!

wonderful exercise
ReplyDeletethe first bird is carefully realistic to characteristics and the second, more impressionistic. It seems more moody, more emotional, and somehow a bit sinister but very interesting

Oh, I'm so glad you see that! Yes! I love the first one, but I can't help but be more attracted to the second one. Yes! It does have a moody and sinister tone. I bet he has a story to tell!
