And that's a wrap for the garden 2022. The temperatures will drop below freezing tomorrow, so everything that was left was picked today.
Good job, little garden, good job.
Good job, little garden, good job.
Hopefully these will all ripen inside this fancy little greenhouse clear plastic container that some crescent rolls came in.
What beautiful produce. Those greenies should ripen just fine. I guess you'll have to tuck the chickies into their blankets ;)
ReplyDeleteThey'll puff up their feathers and huddle close in their little coop. Whenever I feel bad for them, I remind myself that there are millions... billions of chickens in the world that would love it to have it as good as theirs.
DeleteNature just knows how to use color so well! Your little garden was a workhorse this season. I think the okra wins the prize for most consistent production?!
ReplyDeleteHands down. Okra wins. Ron's going to enjoy it often this winter... until he doesn't enjoy it any more!
DeleteI am envious of the length of your growing season! Your garden produce looks sooooo beautiful!! I have never tasted okra and wouldn't have a clue how to cook it :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so interesting to me that something I thought everybody had in their gardens and on their menus is regional. Okra... Well, it's yucky! I like growing it and cooking it, but not putting it in my mouth! Ron, on the other hand, loves it. There are so many ways to make it, but I only cook it three ways: battered and deep fried, cooked in a sauté pan with other vegetables, and gumbo soup. In the freezer they're either cut and coated with flour and seasonings to fry, cut and left plain to for a sauté veggie dish, or cut in bigger chunks for gumbo.
