Just a fun happy little piece of art!
A chocolate layer cake that looks good enough to lick, but don't! Once it's the paint is dry enough you can swipe your fingers across it though. Mmmmm....
Layer 1 - Painted acrylic with a brush
Layer 2 - Stamped circles, swirls, & dots with bottle lid, pipe, fork tines, photo holder
Layer 3 - Collaged shapes made from Gelli plate designed papers
Layer 4 - Stamped spots with bubble wrap
Layer 5 - Smeared oil paint with a palette knife
I think I met my weekly-ish art challenge of "Layers Upon Layers" no matter how you slice it!
**Next week's is "Something to Wear." What shall I do? Any ideas? I'm blank.

That is perfect for a layers challenge! I thought perhaps it was your birthday!
ReplyDeleteLayers Upon Layers! Ha! I thought I might just paint a couple of my hens... they're layers!
DeleteNaaa... My birthday is in March. The cake just looked happier with candles!
I love this! And, what a clever use of the word "layer." I think I like the tablecloth best.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad you like that table cloth! I worked with collage papers until I thought I got it just right... and it wasn't. So, bubble wrap, pink paint, smoosh, peel off... Yeah!
DeleteReally pretty, and I love the "layer" connection and the spots stamped with bubble wrap. It reminds me of a little quilted birthday cake mat I made for my granddaughter.
ReplyDelete"Something to wear" - how about the Queen's crown? ;)
Hmmm... The queen's crown... I wonder if anyone will ever wear that again...
Deletehow fun! (both the process AND the outcome) Your painting would make a great birthday card!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll just remember that next spring... May? :D
